Short Bio

Since we first came to this valley in 1970, St. Luke’s has been our church. Both of our daughters, Janet and Kate, were confirmed here and were active in the youth groups. I have been active in the women’s groups through the years, have taught Sunday School at different levels and sang in the church choir for twenty years.  For a few years I was a volunteer with Hospice in the Home and served in the La Crescenta, Montrose, Tujunga, Glendale areas. The Hospice group I worked through is no longer operating. Food for Body and Soul is an organization dedicated to feeding the hungry in the Glendale area. St. Luke’s sent volunteers on the third Sunday of each month to prepare and serve the Sunday meal and my responsibility was to coordinate our volunteers. I believe my outreach activities will be limited to wherever I might fit into the needs at the Bailey Center in Tujunga.

I have served on previous vestries under Fr. Boone Sadler, Fr. Philip Compton, Fr. Steven Giavangelo and Fr. Ron Jackson. There have been many changes through the years, but nothing close to what St. Luke’s is undergoing now. This is a pivotal time in the life of St. Luke’s and I feel led to participate in whatever tasks God is calling us to do and where we are to go. I am honored and pleased to be asked to serve on the Vestry of St. Luke’s Anglican Church.
