St Lukes Vestry

The St. Luke's Anglican Vestry is comprised of 12 members who elected by the parish to work with the clergy in managing the temporal affairs of the church. Vestry members generally serve three-year terms, with four members rotating off each year. The 2010 Vestry include:


	David Fernandez Senior Warden	David has been attending St. Luke's since Fall 2003. He is a native Californian and has graduated from Occidental College with an A.B. in Politics and earned a J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law. He currently is on the Rector Search Committee and has been involved in both teaching Jr. High Sunday School and volunteering with Slym(e)-the St. Luke's youth group. David has been a member of the Altadena home group since 2004 and genuinely loves St. Luke's.
	Eric Battles Junior Warden	Eric has been a member of St. Luke’s for nearly four years. He studied, was baptized and confirmed under the direction Father Ron Jackson at St. Luke’s and it is the only church home he has ever known. He has always been involved in the community and in the church in various, unofficial ways, helping out whenever and wherever needed. 	Kathy Cavander Clerk of the Vestry	Kathy is happily married to Steve. They began attending St. Luke’s in 1998 and became member soon after. Kathy works in Neurodiagnostics and Sleep at Glendale Adventist Medical Center. Kathy loves being a teacher of our pre-school/kindergarten children in Little Church. She is Clerk of the Vestry, on the Stewardship Committee, Co-Leader of the Prayer Partners and is active in various other ministries.
	Jane Bender	Since we first came to this valley in 1970, St. Luke’s has been our church. Both of our daughters, Janet and Kate, were confirmed here and were active in the youth groups. I have been active in the women’s groups through the years, have taught Sunday School at different levels and sang in the church choir for twenty years. 	Bob Berta	St. Luke's member since 1983, has seen three rectors at St Luke's and one interim (wonderful now-Bishop Frank Lyons). He is currently involved in a LifeShapes group, but previously has served two times on the Vestry of St. Luke’s, and happened to chair the Search Committee that called the former rector. 	Don Duquette	Don Duquette and his wife, Sue, were both born and raised in La Crescenta, and in 1989 along with sons Marc and John (in-the-oven) began attending St. Luke’s. Don and Sue have been continually active in “small group” fellowship and bible study. He has personally benefited from intercessory prayer and miraculous healing through St. Luke’s and found the congregation to be a great source of strength, encouragement and growth for himself...
	Dorothy Geronimi	Dorothy is a single parent blessed with two amazing children, Sean (18) and Erin (14). She’s worked in the insurance industry virtually all of her adult life and currently is a Long Term Care insurance underwriter. She has served on the Vestry on two other occasions in her almost 15 year membership at St. Luke’s. 	David Grecu	David has been a part of the St. Luke’s congregation for almost six years. In that time he has served on the worship and media teams as well as the rector search committee. He has been an editor in film and television for over 15 years currently working on a show called Psych. David would be honored to serve St. Luke’s as a member of the Vestry. He resides in Pasadena with his wife Beth and two small children.
	Donald Gunn	Don has been a member of St Luke’s for over seven years. He, along with his wife Stephanie, are the Directors of Alpha and have led various bible studies. He has previously served on the vestry as well as serving in the role of Junior Warden. Previously, he served as the Treasurer of the AAC-LA and currently represents St Luke’s as a lay delegate and the Treasurer for the Western Anglicans. 	Ruth Lindstrom	Ruth Lindstrom has been attending St. Luke's since 2001 and became a member shortly thereafter and has been serving as a side usher since 2006. She volunteers for the Performing Arts Society at Maranatha High School, where her son Harry attends. 	Lisa Jensen	Lisa and Steve Jensen have been married since October 7, 2000. They raise two beautiful golden retrievers, Toby and Jackson, enjoy taking vacations, walking the “boys” together and attending St. Luke’s. 	Fred Riddle	Fred Riddle and his wife Sammie have been a part of the St. Luke’s family since 1970. Since acknowledging Jesus as his savior in 1939 he got involved with Youth for Christ, Billy Graham Crusades and mostly Baptist churches.
