On Maundy Thursday we remember Jesus’ last supper with his disciples. On this last night before he died, Jesus washed his disciples’ feet, showing them love that involves service to others. Then he commanded them to love one another. “Maundy” refers to the Latin word “mandatum,” referencing this commandment. The service ends with the somber and beautiful stripping of the altar in preparation to remember Jesus’ death on Good Friday.
This year, the congregation of St. David’s Anglican Church in Burbank will join us at St. Luke’s for our Maundy Thursday service.
A prayer vigil will begin after the service and end at midnight. Sign up by clicking below.
